Recent Community Projects and information from our previous meeting:
New community member Sandy Nelson, will determine if there is interest in arranging a public information meeting regarding the possibility of forming a Neighbourhood Emergency Program in Malakwa. More information will follow.
We have been contacted by Tennille Barber regarding moving our website. Tennille was instrumental in developing the new format for the website for malakwa.ca which is maintained by the community association and managed by Sandra Northway. Local news and advertisers are most welcome at malakwa.ca! Our on-line Billboards feature local businesses and the cost is $40.00 per year. If you would like to feature your business please contact us.
Thank you to firemen James, Stone and Will for their help in maintaining the Radon membrane that is situated under the school building. Your volunteer work is very much appreciated!
Malakwa Community Library hours have changed. The Library is now open on Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The Malakwa library is looking for volunteers, please stop by the library on Saturday and let Jim know you are interesting in helping. Please note that the library is closed until further notice.

Malakwa Thrift Shop is closed for the season the Thrift Shop will reopen Thursdays from 10:00 – 4:00 in the Spring.
Yard Creek Camp Ground providing CSRD gives approval, Yard Creek campground, park and trails will reopen

Early Learning and Structured Play Program children 3 – 5 years old – Tuesdays and Thursdays 8:30 – 11:00 a.m. Reasonable fees apply. Support for fees are available if needed.
Malakwa Parents and Tots – Children aged 0 to 6. Drop in. Activities for children, socialization opportunities for parents or caregivers. Wednesdays from 10:00 to 12:00 Healthy snack provided.
Malakwa Baby Talk For moms and/or dads of babies to 12 months. Every second Tuesday, Malakwa Library.
Resource Centre–Eagle Valley Community Resource Centre new hours are:
Monday, 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Wednesdays, 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Fridays, 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Fire Dept. – The Malakwa Fire Department was excited to announce a Junior Firefighters’ program. The program is now underway, for more information please contact the Malakwa Fire Department.
Gospel Church – Worship, Sundays 10:30, Study and Prayer, Wednesdays 7:00 p.m. The Malakwa Gospel Church is a busy place! Souper Saturdays from 12:00 – 2:00 is underway, BG Club, Tuesdays, after school. Tweens, Tuesdays 2:30 – 6:00 and the Friday Night Teen Center is active for the Winter months on Fridays from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.. The annual Christmas Concert will be held Sunday, December 8th, 2019. All are welcome..
New members are always welcome and Malakwa Community members are encouraged to join the Association and help with the many projects that are happening! Membership is only $10.00 per year. The Association contributes to many community projects throughout the year and maintains the Malakwa website www.malakwa.ca
